A hot cheerleader (again), NFC playoff picture, Rockets, a hooker brawl, little people and the best gift ever: The update for Dec. 27

So this is another hot cheerleader photo, because, well, you guys liked the one yesterday, and we are here for the people. It really has nothing to do with the Cowboys winning last night, but she sure is hot, right?

The Cowboys did not need to win last night. But they put a serious beatdown on the Lions 42-21. Dallas is looking more and more like a Super Bowl participant. The Lions are sinking slowly and could miss the playoffs altogether.

We broke down the AFC yesterday, so here is a look at how the NFC stands going in to the final week.

  1. Dallas, 13-2. The Cowboys have locked up the No. 1 seed and should rest every key player next week.
  2. Atlanta, 10-5. The Falcons are in the playoffs as AFC South champs, but need to beat New Orleans to get the No. 2 seed or get a lot of help elsewhere.
  3. Seattle, 9-5-1. The Seahawks have won the NFC West but need Atlanta to lose or tie and will have to beat San Fran to get the No. 2 seed.
  4. Packers, 9-6. The Packers win the NFC North if they beat the Lions. If they lose and Washington wins, they miss the playoffs entirely. So that Packers-Lions game looms large.
  5. Giants, 10-5. The Giants are locked in to the No. 5 seed no matter what. Time to rest everyone.
  6. Detroit, 9-6. The Lions could be anything from the 2 seed to out of the playoffs. They get the 2 seed with a win over Green Bay and losses by both Atlanta and Seattle. Since Seattle plays San Francisco, that is not a realistic scenario. With a loss and a Redskins win, the Lions miss the playoffs.

Still in the hunt: Washington will make the playoffs with a win over the Giants unless Packers-Lions ends in a tie. Tampa is technically alive but realistically, no way. They would need wins from the Colts, Cowboys, Titans, 49ers and Lions, and for the Redskins-Giants game to end in a tie. Oh, and beat Carolina. Not happening.

While Dallas looks like the class of the field, there are some pretty good playoff pedigrees in this field with the Giants, Packers and Seahawks.  This seems a lot more wide open than the AFC.

Rockets roll on again: The Rockets took care of another inferior group again, thumping Phoenix. 131-115 and improving to 23-9 on the season. As usual, James Harden led the way with another big effort.

The first rule of fight club….Not sure what was happening with the homeless in downtown Houston yesterday, but they were out in full force, and apparently angry. Lots of yelling and at least three fights.(And yes, if someone had been with me I would have been betting on them). I’m going to bike around today and if they are still being obstreperous, I will get video. Hopefully it will be as good as the Vegas hooker battle. (Video quality is not great and it is NSFW because one of these “ladies” is not wearing underwear so you get a look at fat hooker butt. It’s still fun to watch).

Small time? Barstoolsports.com is on a quest to find the hottest little person in the world. This is something I can get behind. Probably not the champ but not bad.

Gift of a lifetime: This, my friends, is what I call a great Christmas gift. Look at the sheer joy on the man’s face. You simply can’t top this. (Memo to anyone who forgot to get me a gift…). His woman is an absolute keeper. Put a ring on that one, my man.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I felt like putting a bullet between the eyes of every Panda that wouldn’t screw to save its species. I wanted to open the dump valves on oil tankers and smother all the French beaches I’d never see. I wanted to breathe smoke… I felt like destroying something beautiful.”

— Edward Norton in Fight Club while beating the hell out of Angel Face
