On a radio show, CNN’s Chris Cuomo compared a journalist being called fake news to being called the N-Word.
If you don’t know, President Trump has a feud with media — most notably the New York Times and CNN. In an effort to drive home how bad “fake news” makes journalists feel, Chris compared it to the one of the most sensitive words in America. As I listened to Chris I was surprised he didn’t use “a mother losing her kid” comparison.
We are only a month into 2017 and this is the dumbest political take of the year. Chris is a white guy and has no idea what blacks feel. This should not surprise you, this is how the media thinks and it’s the way I believe most white liberals truly think. White Liberals and the media think they know how black people feel. Some of them will even tell blacks how they should feel.
There are a ton of good journalists, but over the last couple of years, there have been reports (relatively speaking) not to the standard we expect from News Media, reports that have been questionable if not false.
Before Trump assumed the U.S.Presidency, CNN itself ran with a story about President Trump having hookers to urinate in a Russian hotel room. The story fizzled as other news outlets debunked it.
It gets better; Chris apologized. I love the apologies. We know the game, say something outrageous, get the run, if it’s positively received, enjoy it; if the public think it’s stupid, apologize. I absolutely believe Chris thinks fake news is comparable to the N-Word and he received backlash and adjusted on the fly.
Bottom line, the media is arrogant and Chris made a very crucial mistake. Chris allowed Trump and his administration to see; fake news gets under their skin. Fake news has gotten to them so much it has forced them to seek sympathy from public and use a crazy analogy. I would not be surprised if Trump turns up the volume on fake news thanks to Chris.
For the record, Chris Cuomo, in addition to fake news, you can shove your fake ass apology up your ass.
The most delicious irony of this all is Hillary Clinton. In the 2008 Democrat Primary, it’s widely believed that Hillary’s campaign created the “birther movement” and Donald Trump ran with it. Fast forward eight years, Hillary (CNN’s Girl) made “Fake News” a household phrase in a speech, and Donald Trump is running with it. The person who put “fake news” on the map is Hillary and CNN will not hammer her.
