Oh, Johnny: Apparently, Johnny Manziel is creating quite the stir at the scouting combine. According to a “report,” Manziel is attracting “real interest” there.
“Real interest” from who? His agent? Would any NFL team actually sign this guy? Off-field issues aside, he is too small, not accurate enough and simply not a good NFL quarterback.
Maybe someone will try to catch lightning in a bottle, but it is hard to see where he would fit. Manziel was one of the great college quarterbacks, but he came out of a system that produces zero NFL prospects, and has shown nothing to indicate he can succeed in the league.
But hey, at least there is interest…Allegedly.
3-mendous: The Rockets went on one of their three-point shooting binges, pouring in 20 in a 122-103 win over the Clippers in LA. They built up such a big lead that they missed their last 13 3s and still rolled to an easy win. It was a nice bounce-back from a dull loss to Indiana. When the Rockets are raining 3s like this, they can play with anyone. This was a good win to start a difficult stretch.
Injury report: Bill O’Brien, in his own charming way, gave an update on the injuries to J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney, both of whom appear to be ready to return to the field by camp. Of course, he had to remind us he is “not a doctor.” Again. We get it, Bill. You are not a lot of things. But thanks for the update.
This has got to be a record: OK, getting a DUI is no joke. More than one? Bad news. Try this: 23. That’s right; 23 DUIs. He has been a legal driver for 38 years. And has 23 DUIS. Shame.
And finally...Oh, NASA, you should know by now not to ask Twitter to name your planets. Remember the Boaty McBoatface debacle? Twitter responded about how you would have expected.
