Sam Houston Race Park selections for Monday, March 6 with additional analysis not found on the free tip sheet (and praise for Donald Hump)

The camel races were Saturday night, and Donald Hump won it for America! Great job by Andy, who is an avid blitzer and had to ride this monstrosity. The victory means we get to donate $500 to the 100 Club. A great time was had by all except the poor souls who had to ride these things.

How to use the picks: These are the same picks you can get on the free tip sheet available  at and on track. They are not meant to necessarily be in exact order, but more an opinion on likely winners.  I am assuming you have some knowledge or have listened to Acing Racing 2016.  We give a little more detail here than what you get on the tip sheet and throw in a few potential plays. Hopefully you cashed on our Fountain of Youth play. I will add big races days here on occasion, but I will single out a race about four times a year when I feel that strongly about it. This was one of those times.

The races are off the turf today. It has been raining steadily for two days. As such, alternate picks are provided.

WMA RIVERSONG did not show much in debut but should improve
Digging deeper: Fishing for a price here as none of these horses has really shown a willingness to be competitive. The 7 took a little action in the debut, got out well then faded faster than disco. Horses generally improve in their second start and if this one can make the lead early, she might get brave. Won’t be investing much, though.
Wide open. CRUZIN COPPER might surprise on the turnback
Digging deeper: Off the turf. I like the 1-5-8-10 in the pick threes.
WORTH THE EFFORT might be in the right spot today
Digging deeper: No real value in this race other than perhaps the 5. The 2 and 4 will be very short prices. Will go 2-4-5 in pick 3s and 4s and hope to get our prices elsewhere.
OPENING ROADS has been close this meet and might get it done here
Digging deeper: Still like the 6 off the turf, but will also use the 1-3-5-7 and 10 in exotics.
BLAME THE CADDIE has burned a lot of money lately but might break through
Digging deeper: The 6 has been favored in his last three starts and has failed to win any of them. But he has been competitive and appears to be in the right spot to finally get that first win. Will play him on top in the tris — 6 over 4-5-8 over all and will also box the 4-5-6-8 in case he lets us down again.
WHEN SHE SINGS is very sharp right now
Digging deeper: Going right to the lead has worked out well for the 8 in her past two. Should still show speed off the turf, but  opens it up to more contenders, including the 1-4-5-6-9. Will use all of those in the pick 3.
TY’S AGENDA has been climbing the ladder and could keep winning
Digging deeper: Going with the 7 here, who takes a step up in class, but is in really solid form right now. Will wheel him in the exactas first and second with the 1-2-3 and hope for the best.
USA COWBOY has been in sharp form and gets back on grass
Digging deeper: I like the 7 here even off the grass, but move the 1 way up. Off the turf picks are 7-1-4-2. Will also use the 9 in exotics.
BABY TRUMP has a pair of nice efforts over the surface
Digging deeper: The 6 has developed a real affinity for the SHRP surface. But if you like him, play the  4 with him. They were just a neck apart two back and the 4 will be a much more generous price.
YES WAY is bred to like the grass and has shown some ability
Digging deeper: Off the turf I like it 3-6-4-12 and will use those to close out my pick 3.
