After Arya Stark’s arrival to Winterfell on this season’s latest episode of Game Of Thrones, Sansa Stark seems to be coming off… somewhat different. This leaves many of us pondering, “Why is Sansa acting bitchy??”
Disclaimer: I’ve always felt that Sansa was whiny, but Arya’s return was not that. I believe that Sansa has some different emotions flowing through her veins.
This season, there are already tons of references to previous episodes, this moment being one of them: Although Sansa and Arya reunited, they definitely didn’t part in a gracious manner in Season 1. In fact, they hated each other.
Fast forward to our current season – Arya tells Sansa she has a “death list,” and Sansa thinks nothing of it. She actually even laughs it off.
Next, their baby brother Bran (or whoever the hell he is now) confirms that Arya’s “death list” is legit. At this point, Sansa is thinking “WTF, shit just got REAL.” She even goes as far as to ask, “wait… who exactly is on this list?”
Finally, Sansa watches from above as her baby sister Arya spars with Brienne of Tarth – and ends up witnessing that little sis has become one of the best fighters she’s ever seen.
Here’s my take: Sansa isn’t necessarily “bitchy” or “whiny” (not this time, at least), but rather nervously fearing for her life. I’m pretty sure that at this point, she is now more concerned about Arya’s “death list,” and whether or not she’s on it.
