Suck It Rangers, Beltran and Watson have me in my feels, Pitino is an idiot, Juggalo gang wars and more: The Sept. 28 update

SUCK IT RANGERS

Yeah I said it and I don’t even care. The Astros put a major league ass whooping on the Rangers this week, and it felt damn good to be a fan of the hometown 9. This was a long time coming for this team. If you’ll recall, back when Hurricane Harvey hit the area, the Rangers refused to swap home series with the Astros. You think that had anything to do with the results of the last 3 games:

Karma’s a bitch! (h/t to El Jefe on Twitter for this)

I can’t decide what’s better about Tuesday’s win, the fact that the Astros clinched home-field in their division playoff series or that they officially eliminated the Rangers from postseason play. Or that they did both and put up 6 (in just 3 innings) against Cole Hamels, you know the guy who refused to waive his no trade clause to come to the Astros.

We’ll call it a three way tie

Jose Altuve got his 200th hit yesterday, making it 4 straight years reaching that milestone. He’s your AL MVP so stop arguing. And anyone that tries to make the argument that Aaron Judge is the MVP either hasn’t watched baseball or doesn’t know shit about baseball…or both.

Probably both.

The Astros head to Boston for a four-game series on the road, but don’t look for them to overtake the Indians for best record in the AL as the Red Sox still have something to play for, and the Indians get the terrible White Sox for their final 3 games.

I’M IN MY FEELS

I don’t know what got me in my feelings more:

Watching Carlos Beltran get choked up and cry when talking about Puerto Rico.

or

Watching Deshaun Watson give his first game check to 3 ladies, impacted by hurricane Harvey, that work at the cafeteria in NRG.

HERE IS A LINK TO DONATE TO BELTRAN’S PUERTO RICO RELIEF FUND.
Please give what you can.

RICK PITINO IS AN IDIOT

Rick pitino is an idiot and I’m not sorry to see him get fired. If all of this turns out to be true Pitino should be gone and never allowed to coach again. We’ve been here before with him. Way back when he coached in Hawaii he was hit with eight rules violations. Also, don’t forget that not too long ago there was stripper gate at Louisville, and now this?

I was reading an article on ESPN where Pitino said the following:

“Fortunately I’m innocent of all wrongdoing, I run a clean program, and I go overboard on being compliant. And unfortunately this happened because of a young man who I gave a break to every step along the way in life. That being said, I can understand anybody’s opinion when it first broke that, how could nobody know? How it happened I’ll never know, but it’s a part of my life and something I have to live with. When all is said and done, everybody will see how I run a program.”

So no I don’t feel bad for him. I don’t feel sorry for him. He’s made plenty of money and he can go away now.

Here’s Pitino’s official statement on the matter.

If you think this is the end of it, I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you read a couple of the most recent posts on this FBI investigation, there seems to be a lot more coaches and programs that could fall in the coming weeks ahead.

Stay tuned, this could be fun… or ugly; depending on what you like (or don’t like).

ROCKETS MISS ON MELO

Carmelo Anthony didn’t end up a Rocket after all, as most people suspected he would. Instead he ends up in Oklahoma City where, quite frankly, they had better pieces to offer the Knicks in a trade than the Rockets ever did. In my humble opinion this isn’t such a bad thing for the Rockets.

Does it make Oklahoma City better? Yeah, sure it does.

Does it move them ahead of the Rockets? Maybe, but I was never that high on Carmelo Anthony becoming a Rocket anyways.

It’s easy to forget the issues that a player has when you’re wanting him to join your team. We’ll see if the past knocks on him not being a good leader (as well as a ball hog/selfish) rear their ugly head again down the road.

But, if the Oklahoma City Thunder get the US Olympic team Carmelo Anthony that was praised for being a team player, then they could be a force to reckon with.

Either way, hold your heads high Rockets fans, this is still a good team. One of the top four in the West, which means one of the top five in the NBA.
